Leather exudes strength while being both chic and timeless. It suits any interior, from classic to contemporary, and is increasingly found in unexpected places, such as the kitchen. Together with Alphenberg, specialists in leather and high-end interior applications, Wave has developed a range hood with leather upholstery.
How leather works at Wave
- Leather version only. Leather is only available on the version with "suitable for leather upholstery" in the product name.
- Outside only. The leather wraps around the outside of the hood. The ceiling plate, the edges and the underside remain stainless steel or are finished in the colour of your choice.
- One leather colour, with stainless steel or one colour. You choose one leather colour. The rest of the hood remains stainless steel or is finished in one colour of your choice.
The 10 leather colours
Choose from two types of leather: Pampas (4 colours) and Tundra (6 colours). Click a colour to enlarge it; in the enlarged view, click the photo to see the original size.
Pampas
Pampas has a distinctive texture and a rich variety of colour nuances. The top layer is finished with a hard carnauba wax; the natural fine cracks in the surface give the leather its lively character.
Tundra
Tundra comes from the thickest parts of the hide and is heavier and sturdier than most other leathers. It has a robust, matt appearance, is self-healing to a certain extent when scratched, and becomes more beautiful with use.
Colours on screen may differ from the actual leather. Please bear this in mind when making your choice.
Which models are available with leather?

A recirculating range hood draws in cooking fumes, cleans them with a filter and blows the clean air back into the kitchen. That is why almost all the range hoods and hobs with integrated extraction we sell work by recirculation. On this page you can read how it works, which filters are available and what maintenance involves.
The hood is easy to install and the heat stays in your home. All you need is a filter, which you replace or clean from time to time.
How recirculation works
The air is cleaned in two steps. First the grease filter captures grease droplets, so your hood and kitchen stay clean. Then a carbon filter or plasma filter removes the odours from the air. All of this happens inside the hood itself. Why this also saves heat is explained in Ventilating without heat loss.
The carbon filter
The carbon filter is the classic choice. It absorbs odours and then becomes saturated. Wave’s long-life versions last about three years, depending on how often and what you cook. For many Wave models with a round filter, this is the round long-life carbon filter. For the Peyto hob there is the long-life carbon filter 9210.01. You will find all versions among the carbon filters.
The plasma filter
A plasma filter is a more sustainable alternative. The filter cleans itself and does not become saturated with normal use: it is maintenance-free, lasts approx. 12 to 15 years and comes with a 5-year warranty, so you never have to keep buying filters. The round plasma filter with ø150 mm connection filters up to 1000 m³ of air per hour. For models that need a flat filter, such as the hobs, there is the flat plasma filter plus.
Which filter fits my range hood?
That depends on the model. The product page of the hood shows which filter goes with it, and for many Wave models you choose the filter directly when configuring your hood. Not sure? Send us the product code of your hood and we will find the right filter for you.
Maintenance in brief
Clean the metal grease filters regularly; in many cases they can go in the dishwasher. Replace the carbon filter when you notice odour capture declining or after the stated service life. A plasma filter never needs replacing: let the hood run on setting 1 for an hour after cooking and the filter cleans itself. You will find more parts among the accessories and parts.
